Free Rice

What is FreeRice?

I discovered a new website the other day that allows you to answer trivia questions and do a good deed at the same time!  Each question that you answer correctly adds 20 grains of rice to your bowl, and the grains of rice are then donated through the UN World Food Program to help end hunger around the world.  There are several different categories you can choose from that fall into several main categories - art, chemistry, English, geography, Language learning, and math.  It is a great way to study for tests like the SAT or GRE!  And the language questions are an excellent way to practice your vocabulary!  You can change the level of difficulty so that you can give yourself more of a challenge as you work your way through the questions.  It's a great idea, and a well designed site!  Check it out!

From the FreeRice website:

FreeRice is a sister site of Poverty.com. Our partners are the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University and the United Nations World Food Program.

FreeRice has two goals:

  1. Provide education to everyone for free.
  2. Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
